DAY 26 AT EDWIN SHAW
Went to see Mike earlier today. He's lookin good. He walked today with the four-pegged cane. It was the first time I've gotten to see him do it. He did fairly well. He has trouble when Mike makes him look up instead of at his feet. They will be working on that. Mike's goal with Mike is to have him on the tripod cane before he leaves.
Lauren stopped by today and brought homemade apple cake. We all ate some, and Mike liked it. Pirch & I are going downtown (Akron) tonight for Halloween, and probably to various "private residences" near campus.
After we left Edwin Shaw we went in search of costume accessories. Miraculously while at the costume shop on South Main, we stumbled upon a giant green comb. I bought it and brought it over to my cousin Deonna's house for her boyfriend Denny. He is wearing a Green Bay Packers cheesehead costume, and made cheese dandruff specks for his black shirt, and needed a comb to complete the costume (that he is putting cheese in). Deonna is going as the pregnant Katie Holmes, Scientology book in hand. Anyways, we stopped there and they were getting dressed and ready to head over to see Mike. They had a camera. I will be sure and share photos with you all, as I am sure the look on Mike's face was priceless!
Well, I've got to get ready. I am wearing my Anna Valerious from Van Helsing costume I put together. Pirch (who is in the Army National Guard) is wearing her camo pants and boots with a blonde wig and wife beater going as Gwen Stefani. We should look real scary, and hopefully will win some money at Posh, the only local nightclub willing to give money away to crazy people.
I told Mike that I am wearing my costume in either tomorrow or on Halloween. I told him I'd bring him a mask or something to wear to therapy, but he wasn't amused. He told us to just be careful downtown, and don't go in any dark alleys behind old buildings, cause apparently you could fall and hit your head and end up in the hospital for months! He just laughs. He's definitely got his sense of humor back.
