DAY 30 AT EDWIN SHAW
Mike is coming home tonight!
The staff had their weekly meeting this morning. They decided (rather the insurance company decided) that Mike is fit to come home tomorrow in the first part of the day. Upon notifying my mom (of which we are all a bit miffed at the short notice and them expecting it to happen on a weekday), she said well why the heck don't we take him home tonight and save him another night there then?
So it was decided that we will arrive to Edwin Shaw about 5 and eat dinner with him, and then take him home!
I am so excited! I am in no way going to my cooking class! I want to see Mike's reaction to coming home after all this time, and I know my professor will understand. Anyways, he is being discharged with a cane. We luckily have a wheelchair in the family that we will be able to use. This whole insurance business blows me away. <my personal beliefs only follow:> For the most part I think it is the root of all evil in this country. That an insurance company can tell a medical doctor how a patient should be cared for is absolutely crazy. <end my personal grievance toward "The Man"> Okay, well that aside, I am very happy that Mike is coming home. I will post back later with a followup on Mike's reaction to coming home.
