I am in much better spirits than last week. Mike is cleared to get speech and physical therapy. He won't get occupational, but luckily we've got Aunt Sharon in our back pocket to help out with his right arm.
Mike has an appointment at Medina General Hospital tomorrow night at 7:15 to have his left knee MRI'd. He will have to sit perfectly still for 45 minutes.
He had therapy today. His therapist wants him to stop using the cane at home. He did a lot today I guess, including walking on the treadmill for about 5 minutes at a 2.5 mph pace. He's doing a lot of stretches and strength training.
He is eating a TON of food now. Those pills the doctor suggested are working and he has his appetite back. Basically if there is food around, he will eat it. We enjoyed a very good dinner tonight thanks to my mom's co-worker Deb. Thanks!
Our thoughts go out to my dad's uncle, Forrest Parker, for a speedy recovery. And also to my Uncle Ted and Aunt Loretta's family & friends for strength during their trying times. The downside of having a big family is that there are more relatives who can have health problems. I am more and more aware that if you have your health, you are truly blessed.
I am excited because I know what I am getting Mike for his birthday this year. His birthday is December 7th. I would tell you what it is, but you would probably accidentally tell him!

Mike and I laughed just now. The Norton Furniture guy has a new commercial out. We just saw it on TV. Chances are you don't stay up late enough to see the Norton Furniture guy. He has a cult following.
Other than that, I went out shopping today for the heck of it. I was amazed by how much I really liked the winter collections out there. I stopped at one of my favorite stores, Express. But I never have enough money for them so I just look at the dummy's for ideas. Then I hike it down to my real favorite store, Wet Seal, and buy a copycat item. It works. Anyways, sure burned away an afternoon.
Tomorrow it is off to cooking class. Mike and I have been watching the Food Network, specifically Emeril. It seems Mike is obsessed with Emeril. When he's hungry he says, "I wonder what Emeril is cooking? I wish Emeril would come over here and cook something." Then he wanders out to the kitchen and starts opening up the cupboards and hinting at us that we should cook something! Emeril has been doing Thanksgiving dishes this week. We are REALLY looking forward to Thanksgiving, not just for the food.
Talk to you next week maybe.
