Mike got discharged today at 4pm and is on his way home. They kept him around for tests. His formal diagnosis is "syncope" which is a fancy way of saying passing out or something strange. They say it can be caused from shock or being squeamish about something, or heart electrical pulse irregularities, or other unknown misc. things. They doubt Mike has weird things going on in the heart (the EKG they did was fine). What it is, by the time they could give him the EEG, the electrical symptoms of a seizure in his brain had dissipated below significant levels. So until he shows a repeated pattern of seizures, they can't justify diagnosing him with a seizure disorder. So syncope is close enough. Not to belittle the diagnosis, but I think it is a catch-all word. We are hoping no further incidents will occur. There was also mention of vasovagal symptoms, which from what I sort of grasped, had to do with blood pressure. They are suggesting he monitor his salt intake. Bottom line is, they don't really know what caused it.

Interestingly enough, the two articles I found online suggest a higher salt intake can help, so obviously there's some questions we still need to answer and some research that needs to be done. I'll get right on that once I get some homework done hahaha...
Mike is still allowed to drive, but with caution. If more incidents occur to the point of where they would diagnose him with a condition, then the driving would be an issue and he would get meds. But no meds for now. We are glad, because he is already on so many.
I didn't write earlier because I had no new news to report. Mike did get to see Kristy again today. Mom and I had just missed her, in which Mom felt bad cause she didn't get to say hi. So I will utilize the old computer to send a shout out to Kristy via the internet..."HI KRISTY SORRY WE MISSED YOU. ~THE GAMAUF'S"
We are now going to take efforts to find out exactly what to do in a case where Mike has another incident, and tell friends and family what to do in case of an incident. See, me taking that First Aid/CPR class last semester will actually come in handy, because there is a section in there about treating someone having a seizure! I'll keep you posted on Mike's progress. It is my understanding that he and Brian are busting out the 5.0's May 1st...and putting on headers and H-pipes...uh oh. The Wadsworth cops won't know what to do.
