To the Gamauf Family: I am a close friend of the Hamilton/ Imburgia family & witnessed you all pull through the first few days of Mike's recovery together. I have been following Mike's recovery & have come to look forward to getting up in the morning & reading about all of the new things he is doing. You should all be proud of yourselves & of Mike for the way your family is "making it to the other side" of this ordeal. Your love for & closeness to one another is evident & I am touched by it. I read this morning that Kristen & Diane are feeling as though they are becoming more & more alone as the time passes. It saddened me to think that you did not know that I (& many others, I am sure) was here, pulling for Mike & your family too. So today, after nearly a month & a half of following his journey silently, I decided that it didn't matter whether or not you all know me...you need to know that there are a lot of us out here...people that you don't know (& might never know) praying for your family in your time of need & rooting on the sidelines for Mike. You are not alone...nor will you ever be. Keep your hopes up & your smiles on...Mike needs them. Your friend, Heather Westerfield

Gamauf and Hoyt Families,
The Patrick family continues to pray for all of you. You may not be aware of all the people out here who are following your struggle. But there are many who are so touched and inspired by the way your family is handling this tragedy. All of you have been an example of pure loyalty, dedication, and love. You have been a reminder to all of us to appreciate who and what we have EVERY day. So for that, I thank you. Keep hanging in there, just like Mike continues to do. We are so thrilled for these gains he is making.

To the whole Gamauf family ---
We are SO pleased to see every bit of progress that Mike makes! We read the updates every day and I think about you all. Life can be so hard.
Mike is teaching us all so much just by what he is going through, HOW he goes through it, and how all of you endure it all. While I, of course, am proud of Mike, I am so very touched by Kristen. She is wonderful.
I feel that I know you, although I realize that isn't true. I think that I connect with you because of your strong sense of family and your sense of humor and the love that you all have so much of. My family is much the same.
I know that this road is not easy. I keep you in my prayers every day. Keep a smile.

Mike, Kristen, Jim, Diane,
I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck at home with Mike! I was so surprised to find that he had gone home when I read the update email. I wasn't planning on him leaving until Friday, but I have about the least say in the matter as anyone (it's such a messed up system). Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with you all and I look forward to seeing Mike in the community link program. GOOD LUCK!!

Just a quick note from Mark Hamilton and Kristen Hamilton - we are doing well and still on the mend. We have not forgotten about you and your family and we miss talking with you. I am glad that the Doctors at Shaw are able to help - they did miracles with Kristen. Be cautious of the food there - I think it kept Kristen there longer than necessary - just kidding! I hope this season of holidays finds you all in good spirits and happy. This recovery road is long and just like Akron's roads - full of pot holes. If you have a good co-pilot that can tell you where to avoid trouble the road is not as long as you might initally think. Keep strong and pray - you are not alone.
We will be thinking of you.
Mark and Kristen Hamilton

It is so good to see you looking like yourself again. I LOVE the pictures!! What a trip that must have been! And to be able to get such great pictures!! I'm glad you had such a great time....here's to many more! I have not been on for awhile, but I knew you were doing ok. A long hard battle but you did (and are doing)it!! Some sad news, do you remember Mark Hartman from the Highway Garage? He was only 44, but he got pancreatic cancer about the time you had your accident. He passed away 2 weeks ago on July 5th. It has been a hard year for quite a few people. Bill Viovode, the head of the garage had brain surgery and just now came back to work. It seems like so many awful things have happened, but I pulled your folder out the other day and thought of you and how wonderful it is that you have come so far...so I had to write again. Keep holding your head up high...you deserve a break!! I add a prayer for you and several other people here that are going through hard times. It is so good to see you having fun and getting out! God Bless! Janine - HR from the Medina County Engineer's Office.
