Please continue to pray for my brother Mike. He is fighting to recover from the massive head trauma he suffered from a fall Friday night of Aug. 19th in Akron. I will try to update close friends of his and family by email and this forum. Do not try to call because we cannot have our phones on at the hospital. Mike is unconscious but responding to stimuli in the surgical intensive care unit at Akron General Hospital. He had emergency brain surgery to repair a blood clot on his brain. NO flowers or visitors other than family are allowed at the ICU, the best you can do is put all your positive energy together. Right now it is important that he rests. Very close friends can contact other close friends for updates. It has been stressful for all involved and close friends, so please utilize this forum for the time being. You can check this webpage frequently. Since it is so hard to email or call or text many people at different times, I figure it is the best way to keep everyone up to date. My mom and dad are over here in Akron with me. I will keep everyone posted. It gives the family comfort to know that people are keeping him in their thoughts.

The entire McCourt family is keeping mike and mike's family in our hearts and prayers. If there is anything we can do to help out in any way don't hesitate to ask. Mike is one of the strongest people I know and he is going to pull through this. I love Mike like he was my brother and there is not a second that goes by that I don't think about him. We will all be waiting for more good news.

Gamauf Family,
Mike is in all of our thoughts and prayers. Mike has always been my best friend and I know that he is strong enough to get through any obstacle that is put in his path. It's Mike's nature to prove people wrong, call it being stubborn, he'll do whatever it takes to show people that he can do it, we all have stories to back that up. Mike has a lot of people in his corner and we know that he'd be in ours. My family and I will continue to pray for the best and Mike, you are always in our thoughts. I cannot wait for when we can all hang out again and put this situation in the past, I know that day is coming soon.
With Love, Kurt Parker and The Parker Family

The Gamauf/Hoyt Family:
Mike is a great kid. You have done a great job so far, and I'm sure that you will continue doing a great job being a source of support for Mike. It is obvious how much all of Mike's family and friends love him. There is good reason why he has turned out to be such a good guy.
Mike has a lot of strengths in his recovery. He has tremendous love and support from his family and friends. He has good strength of character, a really good nature, and a positive outlook. He is physically strong and healthy. Although, he is quiet, he can be feisty when he needs to be, often when we least expect it. He has a lot of people who are keeping him in their thoughts, praying for him, and sending love his way.
I can't imagine how difficult this must be for all of you. I hope that you guys remember to take care of yourselves too. If you need anything, if there is anything I can do to help, or if you just need a little support, please don't hesitate to call.
Love you, Deonna

Thank the Lord, Kristen! We will continue to pray for you all. I have been checking this board just about every hour, so it was great to see that. I am also glad to hear that your mom is doing a little better. I tried to imagine how my mom would be if it was my brother...and I think she would be to the brink of insanity. Thank you for keeping us updated. Love, Candice and Jonathan Forte

Kristen and the Gamauf Family,
There is not a minute of the day where I don't think about Mike and the Family. Wondering how he is doing and how the rest of the family is doing. It seems as though everyone is hanging in there and, from the updates, Mike seems to be doing great as well. Seems as though his doctors are performing well also. With the combination of all of our thoughts, prayers and great care; I know he will pull through this. Mike is a very strong and determined person and we will all get through this in the end. Thank you, Kristen, for building this website for all of us to access it has become very easy this way, I just wish I could now be closer to home. And my thoughts are with all of you everyday.
Sincerly,
Jeff Miller

To Mikes Family: We met Mike a few weeks ago when we spent our vacation with the McCourts and him at Myrtle Beach. We were very impressed with Mike- he was a lot of fun and personable with us. I am very sorry to hear about his accident. I am quite familiar with all you are facing because my brother in law suffered a brain injury a couple of years ago. I am impressed with the website- you are doing a terrific job Kristen. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and with all of you. Stay strong- he will need you when he gets to the next step in his recovery.

Dear Diane and family, I just heard about Mike today in an emergency meeting at school. I am so so sorry. The exact same thing happened to my brother-in-law back in January, so I do know some of what you are going through. I can tell you from experience that it will get better. You've already gotten through the most critical stage. I will keep Mike and you in my prayers. Cindy Dutt

As a friend of a friend of Mike's, I am praying and helping spread the word around Bowling Green University about this situation. I can guarantee that there are many prayers coming from all over Ohio and beyond. I do not know Mike, but I do know that God has his hand on this situation. Therefore, I pray that he has a quick and healthy recovery.
God Bless, -Nate
